Greetings. I have an older IBM Netvista PC (P4/1.8) I am using as a PVR
and would like to increase the disk size. How can I check how large a disk
can be recognized? It has been flashed with the latest BIOS available
(dated 6/17/2004). If there isn't a 137GB limit on it, does that mean it
can go up to, say, 400 gig? Thanks for reading.

I would get a 400GB disk from a place I could return it, and tested it
myself.

What does the IBM site say about support
for drives over 137G with that bios ?

If it doesnt say, the only real way is to try it.
http://www.48bitlba.com/index.htm
provides a pretty good summary of the issues
and HDINFO from that site allows you to check
if the bios supports drives larger than 137G.
Unfortunately you do need a drive larger than
137G for it to be able to test the bios capability.

Its also got a list of what versions of the OSs you need as well.

Yes, if you dont have a 137G limit, you can use any currently buyable ATA
drive.

Nothing I'm afraid. I'll see if I an scare up a 200 and see what the
boot looks like.

That's what I needed to know, thanks. Thanks for the reply and the util
lead.
