I have built an image successfully using evaluation copy but haven't
been able to obtain a vendor who is willing to sell me XPE licenses.

I have talked with a Microsoft associate who tells me that the model
of the computer that I want to put it on is not "embedded enough?."

Can anyone from Microsoft clarify what he meant?

My target is a machine with a 800 Mhz processor, 128 Meg ram, and a 40
Gig harddrive. Can I put XPE on this machine?

Thanks in advance.

Terry,
If you can make it work on the HW then that is fine, i've never heard of a
maximum restriction and your specs aren't abnormal, they aren't common
either <grin>. So to answer your question, yes, you can put XPe on to that
machine.

Some companies put XPe onto more powerful machines than yours because it
allows them greater control over locking the OS down, or because they can
take advantage of the Embedded Enabling Features like Enhanced Write Filter,
El-Torito, Remote Boot, etc....
