I am trying to work on a spreadsheet that is about 160MB
but whenever I try to modify the file I recive and
insuffient memory error. Is there a memory limitation on
excel files. My system has about a gig of RAM and my
vitual is set to about 4 gigs. Therefore I do not think I
should be running into the memory limitation.

Thanks
Tim

Depends. If you're running under Windows NT, 2000 or XP, you could us
Task Manager to check how much free RAM you have as well as how muc
Excel is using.

But that's beside the point. While your system may have lots of fre
RAM, it's possible Excel just won't allocate more than some fixe
amount, like 256MB (just a guess). If that's the case, you may not b
able to edit your workbook because of the way Excel stores stat
information to provide for undo functionality
