Maximum Number of Worksheets

Limited by memory only - This means Excel's internal memory limits as well as
any physical memory considerations. Depending on what's in the sheets you could
bomb out with just one sheet if you filled it with array formulas. You have
nearly 17 million cells in a sheet. I believe one of the guys here got bored
after putting some 20,000 sheets in a workbook one day, so you are probably safe
:)

Hi Al!

Max number of sheets is limited by available memory.

You can open a workbook with up to 255 sheets by changing the setting
in:

Tools > Options > General

For details of specifications you can search Help on "Excel
Specifications" or Google Search on those words.
