Hello,
In our web-application we notice that ActiveX components are
downloaded to <WINDIR>\Downloaded Program Files
and that when a file with the same name but, for instance, with a
lower version is present, a subfoder "Conflict.N" is created.
The NTFS-permissions on the files in this conflict-folder are set to
only allow access to Administrators and the currently logged-in user.
There's also a maximum number of conflict folders which will be
created by IE.
My questions are:
- What is the maximum number of Conflict folders which can be created?
- Is this maximum configurable?
- Why is only the Currently logged in User given permissions on the
files in Conflict folders, even when the parent-folder (Downloaded
Program Files\Conflict.N in this case) has different permissions set?
Any response would be greatly appreciated.
With kind regards,
Roland Leijten
