Maximum number of applets per page

Hi. I have a page with a large number of applets (custom edit
controls) which work fine on IE 5.5 and earlier versions of 6. After
executing the latest Windows Update for IE, IE refuses to display more
than 51 applets on a single page. Is there an adjustable limit on the
number of applets per page?
