Hi All,

Any one have any idea the maximum no of printers that you can add to
Win2000 system ?
In my work environment, we potential can have hundred of printers
adding to a printer server. So I wonder is there any limit on W2K
side.

Any idea is appreciated.

Thanks in advanced.

I don't think there is a specific limit on the number of printers. A few
hundred should be possible.

There is no hardcoded limit. Your server will have limits however, based on
memory usage, bandwidth, etc.

I have added over 6K printers on a server, but it was really bogged down.
The practical limit I have found on W2K appears to be around 3K for a 1.8Ghz
machine with 512MB of RAM.

NT4.0 used to have a limit of around 900 or so, and would bugcheck on reboot
if the System Hive exceeded a certain size. This was fixed in NT4.0 SP6a.
