Having recently installed XP Pro I notice that whenever I open a window it
is minimized. Is there a "PHD"...Push Here Dummy..method that would allow me
to have any new window/file I open maximized?

Thanks in advance..

Mike.

If the windows are maximized before closing them, Windows will usually
remember that size. It usually takes 2 or 3 times of closing in this manner
to "set" the size. Using File> Close instead of clicking the X, is another
way to induce programs to remember their windows size.

If you run into a stubborn program, right click on its shortcut and select
Properties. Here you will find a dropdown list where you can select what
kind of window the program should open with. As long as you use this
shortcut to start the program, those are the results you will get.

Remember that most items in the start menu, on the desktop and in the
QuickLaunch toolbar are shortcuts. Suggest that you tweak the properties in
whichever shortcut you use most - or - in all of those locations.
