Maximizing when opening programs

I know this sounds trivial, but when I go to open almost any program, it
doesn't open up as a full screen. Usually, they open up as a smaller oddly
shaped window. I tried right clicking on the properties tab of each program
and changing to maximized, buit still no luck.

When new display settings or new display drivers are installed, the
"remembered" windows sizes can end up out of synch with the display.
Switching from a game or other specialized display and back to Windows can
cause a blip in the video hooks. This in turn can throw off the orientation
of individual windows. Resetting the windows as you encounter them should
sort it out. I use dual monitors with two different resolutions and
occasionally have to reset an applications remembered window size. The
following work for me:

--Maximize the windows using the buttons in the upper right hand corner. If
already maximized, click the button to "restore down" and then click it
again to maximize. Close the window, at least once, using File> Close.

--If still no luck, open a window with the odd size. Right click the
taskbar and choose Cascade Window. Then Maximize and use File> Close.

If you are executing the program by double-clicking a shortcut (rather than
the executable directly), then you can right-click the shortcut, select
properties, and under the "shortcut" tab, change the "Run" parameter to
"maximized". This doesn't work 100%, but well-behaved programs will obey.

Doug, use your mouse to stretch the window to full screen then click File
and then Close. This works with IE, OE, Windows Explorer and many programs.

I have the exact same problem; even though I re-size and
maximize, the windows always revert back to a smaller
size. Hope someone posts a solution...
