Hi

Windows XP pro.

When I open the I.E, it opens as maximized. But when I open any link within
by right-clicking > Open in New Window, this will open it as minimized. The
properties of the browser is set to "Maximized".

How/where can I set it to open as maximized when using "Open in New Window" ?

Many thanks

Hi,
Open a webpage. Stretch it out to fullsize. Don't use maximize.
Choose any link on that webpage and right-click> open in a new window.
Stretch that second window out to the desired size- don't use maximize.
Close the first IE window. Then close that second resized window.

To always get a true maximized window...

Hi ,

Don provided greate information. I have some additional thoughts:

Internet Explorer may cannot launch a shortcut maximized because of
security implications when an application is launched under the system
process. If you launch IE under the system process, it will proces IE as
-EMBEDDING, to run under SVCHOST. This includes selecting an option from
the Start, Favourites menu, typing a URL at the Start, Run prompt,
right-clicking a link and selecting "Open in a New Window" or even clicking
a URL in an e-mail message. Unfortunately, IE never comes up maximized in
this situation. But IE remembers the size of the window the last time you
exited the browser (as long as it wasn't maximized). So if you resize that
standard window to be as big as possible, and then exit and relaunch
Internet Explorer, the size will hold.

Same as IE shortcuts, such as the ones on your Start menu and Quick Launch
Toolbar. To adjust one of them, right-click the shortcut icon and select
Properties. Go to
the Shortcut tab. For the Run option, select Maximize, then click OK. Now
whenever you load IE via that shortcut, the window will be maximized.

If you launch the IEXPLORE.EXE from the RUN or the embedded desktop icon it
will run itself under the SHELL. The Internet Explorer icon on your
desktop or iexplore.exe, however, isn't a standard shortcut; it has no
maximize option. Luckily, this icon remembers the condition of the window
from the last time you used the browser. So if you exit IE after maximizing
its window during a session, it'll open in the same mode next time you
launch it.

Hope the information satisifed you.

Thanks.
