How do I set up my browser so that all pages will open
maximized?

Try stretching the small window to full size. (Do not use Maximize)
Ensure that window is the last one closed and IE should remember the
size next time.

HI Siljaline - Here are a couple more for your "toolbox" in case you don't
already know about them:

"Close all windows EXCEPT the one that open "minimized"; right click on your
Task Bar, either on the open space on the right or left end (your choice);
select "Tile Windows Horizontally" and IE will maximize; close IE. Re-open
IE and it will be maximized. Just showed a buddy this trick yesterday and
works like a charm. Enjoy."

It does work like a charm. The resultant window isn't quite _totally_
maximized - it's a small 'border' less than, but not noticeable.

Here's another approach from a Frank Saunders post:

"From: http://www.fjsmjs.com/IE/offpos.htm

Symptom: IE opens a maximized window shifted down and to the right.

Remove any 'Auto-hide' option for the taskbar and while the window is
maximized, resize the taskbar then return it to the desired size. This is to
try to make Windows re-calculate the window size and boundaries.

If no joy, run regedit and remove these registry key values:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\window_placement

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Desktop\OldWorkAreas\OldWorkAreaRects

Then reboot.

I think if after the page is opened you'll stretch it out
to full size and leave 'em like that when you log off or
close the browser they'll be set full for the next time.
I don't think there is a setting as such other than how
you last left them. Good luck.......

.
This is the command line parameter to open IE in Theatre
Mode

iexplore -k index.html

"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" -k
- When entered in the RUN dialog opens Internet Explorer
in Full Screen Mode at the Default Home Page.

To open IE in Full Screen mode as opposed to Theatre Mode
you need to edit the Properties of the Desktop links to IE.

Locate your Desktop links or QuickLaunch toolbar links to
IE and right-click to display the drop-down menu. Select
Properties. On the Properties page you will see a drop-
down combo with Run:. Select Maximized and save your
changes. The next time you click on the link IE will
always open in a Maximized window (unless the page that
you navigate to resizes the window itself)

Hi Jim - thanks for the pointers, I shall try to jot them down for future reference ;)
