I find I need to maximise any on-screen display each time it opens - google for instance displays just 3/4ths of the page. I cannot find the setting that will 'lock' the size so that next time I open a full page will be there. Advice from anyone, please?

Thanks in advance.

Drag the bottom left corner of the window until it fills the screen, hold
down Control, click the red X. & reopen.
It will retain that size until the PC hiccups some time in the future &
you'll have to do it again.
AFAIK, there's no setting in XP to have any window default open in
'Maximise'

R-click an icon and select properties. On the shortcut tab, you can change
the "run" size.

Jax,

The OP stated "google for instance." Are you suggesting that every web page
visited should be placed as a shortcut on the users system so that they can
use that advice?

The solution was provided by Johnf in this same thread.

The way I interpret the OP, they are asking about the browser page. My
suggestion applies to most any file you care to open.

Jax,

Let's try again:

This is your reply; "On the shortcut tab, you can change the 'run' size."
So, when you open a browser page where is the "shortcut tab" and where is
the "run" size?

Admittedly, you can right click on the browser icon and make one of the
following choices; Restore, Move, Size, Minimize, Maximize, or Close. But
that was not the solution in your reply.

Your answer only applies to icons loaded as shortcuts, thus my reply to your
solution.

Additionally, if the browser icon is used to "Maximize" a browser page it
requires the user to implement it for each page visited. Not really the best
solution. Again, the correct way to have "all" browser pages open maximized
is to use the method provided by Johnf.

George, if you were to follow the thread, my response was to Johnf. He
stated,"AFAIK, there's no setting in XP to have any window default open in
'Maximise'. You are welcome to ponder the contents of your belly button if
you care.
