Max # of mounts for SDLT cleaning tape?

I have an SDLT tape library which I've configured a cleaning tape into a
slot, using Netbackup. When configuring the cleaning tape, I was asked
how many mounts I will let it go for before replacing. I couldn't find
any literature about cleaning tapes and specifically about SDLT cleaning
tapes, so I just took a guess and gave it a nice round 100 mounts
maximum. Too many? Too little? What's the rule of thumb?

The manufaturer of the cleaning tape should have that info in the
datasheet of the tape.

They recommend replacing the cleaning tape after 20 uses
(there are 20 check boxes on the cleaning cartrige label).

Also, the cleaning tape should only be used when the tape
drive requests a cleaning.

Thanks, that's what I was looking for.

Yup, Tape Alerts is turned on.

Which you couldn't find by yourself, obviously.

I wouldn't have asked if I could find that info.

Before you get all Netcop on me, I'll just let you know that the tape
library I have here is located about 1000 miles from where I am, so I am
not the one handling any of these tapes.

That is pretty convincing...
