Max number of files and folders

Is there a max number of files, directories, or sub-
directories in Win2k?

Expect a delay when opening a folder with a very large number of files (depends on system speed: CPU, RAM)

Hi, John.

The limit depends on the FILE system (FAT32 vs. NTFS), rather than on the
OPERATING system (Win2K vs. Win9x/ME). The limit is per VOLUME, and there
can be multiple volumes on a single HD.
