Max Memory for win.xp home edition

4 GB, but your motherboard may be limited to something less.

The design limit is 4gb but there are special considerations and
configuration settings you need to use if you go beyond 3 gb.

4GB for either Home or Pro. Above 3GB you need a extra /3GB added to
the line for the system in boot.ini ,, and there are reported to be
downside effects: I would really not think more than 2GB as being
sensible - and more than 1GB as being a specialist need
