max file size over !!! can't open ..

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to the
Swen virus, all e-mails sent to my actual account will be deleted w/out
reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer

there is a tool.. I forget the name.. it will chop off X amount of MB from
the tail end of your file.. Then you have to run the PST check tool to
repair the file.. then see if it will open or not..

Make sure you backup your pst before doing anything...

You WILL loose SOME data.. To my knowledge there is no way to keep all of
the mail....

as soon as you get it operational again you should compact the file to save
as much space as possible.. and start a new PST.. using your old one for
reference only..

As far as how many MB to remove.. it varies.. you really just have to try
and see...
