maually DL from Windows Update

Could someone please tell me how to download manually from windows update
site so that the driver I need gets save to my C: drive so I could install
it after I get off the internet. Its a modem driver and hangs-up the
computer..and screws up the modem when I try it automatically.

Don't bother. Go to the website of your Modem Manufacturer
and get the updated driver from there.
 
Click Start, My Programs and the Windows Update. Once your at the Windows
Update site click on scan. If there is an updated windows driver (which I
doubt) you will see that under Driver Updates in the left window. You can
then download and install the update.
 
Found this and it works just fine to DL to hard drive.....

To set Windows Update for downloading the updates for later installation
instead of installing now:
Go to Windows Update
Click on Personalize Windows Update (left column)
Click "Display the link to the Windows Update Catalog under See Also
Click Save Settings button.

When you're ready to download:
Go to Windows Update
Click Windows Update Catalog (left column)
Click on Find updates for Microsoft Windows operating systems (or, Find
driver updates for hardware devices)
Select your OS & click the Search button
Select what you want; Critical or Recommended
Select the downloads you want and go to the download basket.
