Hello,
I am running PPT 2003 and I installed mathtype 5.2 for a "better"
mathematical rendering.

Actually, while I have no problem with ordinary text, my equations looks
very bad on the screen, a kind of blurring.

Any hints?

gyru,

How do you get the output from mathtype into powerpoint?

If it's by inserting a picture (bitmap) then that's probably why it looks blurred.

I just do "insert object mathtype equation".
I must say that if I try "insert object microsoft equation 3.0" it also
opens mathtype, which really pisses me off!
By the way I don't use any bitmap inclusion.
Every now and then I use to GROUP equations with textboxes. Does it result
in a single bmp object? In this case you might be right!

The major problem is that this effect is not systematic, it happens every
now and then. I use to edit my presentation also on my laptop, where I
actually have a ppt 2002. Can it be a problem?

Thanks again,

gyru

Still me.

I did several tests and finally looks like there is the following problem:
The math input (either mathtype, eqeditor or grouped stuffs containing
equations) becomes blurred in the presentation as soon as I define a
transition effect for that object.
If I remove the effect the object becomes fine again.
What can I do?

Ah. Sounds as if you've hit the jaggy text bug.

I don't know that you can do anything about it except not use animations on
that object.
