I'm trying to create a new template that I was asked to create a standard
"section slide", for instance, "Table of Contents", "Project Plan",
"Appendix", etc. all have the same look and feel.

Is was a way to make the "section master" part of the ‘slide master’?
I'll have a Title Master, Slide Master, plus a Section Slide Master. Is it
possible?

Your help is greatly appreciated!

Sure, as long as you are using version XP or later. You would create a
second slide maser, call it Section, and design it to your heart's content.
If you have already designed your other slide masters, copy and paste them
so that the new master takes on the look of the original (that's better than
right-clicking and choosing New Slide Master or New Title Master, which
would give you a plain white slide).

In order to apply the Section master to a slide, use the Design task pane,
note the appearance of two "design templates" in the presentation (poor and
confusing choice of words on the part of the program developers, but oh
well). Right-click on the new master and choose Apply to Selected Slide.

Write back and tell us if this works for you...

Hi Rick,

Thank youo very much for the tip.
I am currently using PowerPoint 2003, so the second slide master option is
not applicable unless I have the XP version?

Please let me re-iterate the info from you to make sure that I really
understood it:

- I can created a second slide master called "Section"
- I want to copy & paste the existing slide master to the new master to
avoid getting plain slide
- I use "Slide Design" task pane, choose the new master and Apply to the
Selected Slide

Is that right? (Sorry, I am really a PPT beginner, trying to learn how to
use this powerful tool).

Greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, you're good to go. V2003 is the successor to XP.

Yes, and the best way to do that is to select your original slide master and
copy it. Then right-click on the new one, choose Rename, and change its name
if you wish.

I use "Slide Design" task pane, choose the new master and Apply to the
Selected Slide.

You got it!
