Master Information File will not load

I was cleaning up my hard drive and planned to uninstall
the MSN Messenger. When I click on the ADD/REMOVE Windows
Components button I get "Setup was unable to load the
master information file". Any suggestions as to how to
fix this problem?

Try the system file checker tool, click start, run, and

type in; " sfc /scannow " with that space after the sfc,
and it may ask for your XP CD to copy any needed files
from, and it runs as "windows file protection". Borrow a
XP CD if you do not have one to use for this.
