MS Word 2002 with SP-2. I am creating a master document with 10 chapters.
Can't seem to get the footers to print on each page of each chapter when
setup as a master document. I have set the same as "previous switch" on the
footer control, but the footer comes up blank. When I look use the previous
switch on the footer tool bar, it show the all the information that should
be included in the blank footer. Checked the width of the page layout as
suggested in one of the news documents and they are all the same .(5"). I
checked and there are no headers or footer in each section that is over
riding the master footers. When I check the previous footer using the icon
on the tool bar, it shows the information that should be displayed. I might
add that it does work through page 10 of the third document.

Hi Bobby,

See the article “Why Master Documents corrupt” at:

and if you ignore that, See the article “How to recover a Master Document”

Hope this helps

Hi Bobby,

Go between the "previous" footer that's correct and the one that's blank.
Look very carefully on the page: the section number and footer type should be
named. Are the two section numbers in sequence, or is a number skipped? And
are the footers of the same type (both first page, or even page, or
"normal")?
