I'm running windows server 2003 and I am getting an error
in my system log that says that one of my clients on the
network (running xp professional) says that it is the
master browser. Does anyone have any ideas what this
means, or how to fix it for that matter?

There is sometimes a problem in mixed OS networks. Each OS thinks it should
be the browse master. Go to the XP computer > Admin tools > services >
computer browser and disable this service. It is best to make your server
the browse master thereby eliminating any contention.
