The master browser has received a server announcement
from the computer "abc" that believes that it is the
master browser for the domain on transport NetBT_Tcpip_
{8A91F1EA-7E9F-48D0. The master browser is stopping or an
election is being forced

Getting this message from different clients, how to stop
this error being recorded??

thanks in advance

You can disable the Computer Browser service on the offending clients. This
will stop them from trying to become the master browser, but will allow them
to browse and be browsed.

Nope, all computers that are capable to operate as browsers are offenders.
By default that means ALL computers in each subnet. Every time a system
boots, it will trigger an election on the subnet unless that system is
specifically designated not to participate as a master browser or a backup
browser. Forcing an election does not mean a system will win the election.
How you disable this depends on the client's operating systems.

for W2K:
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SYSTEM \CurrentControlSet \Services \Browser
\Parameters
MaintainServerList
