he probably means the error.log on the Microsoft
antispyware folder.

i had this issue too and have to constantly watch
error.log its either shutting down window xp or shutdown
Microsoft Antispyware causes this error.log to get bigger.

your not alone Stephen.

people say you can delete, but i choose not too

How come my .log file is 273Mb!

Rename it to error.old if you want to keep it.

I think its necessary to do a major house cleaning
to overcome this. There is no "shortcuts" in work to
overcame this.

- Uninstall not used program
- Empty temp folders
- Check with redundant programs as Adaware
- Deep scan in safe mode with MSAS
- Perhaps HijackThis also is needed.

This is excellent described here (except MSAS):

One more benefit is that you have learned a lot about
your PC when this housecleaning is done

After this check your new error.log if it grows.

Agreed, but I didn't want to write a long reply based on an assumption, and
it was late and I was tired!

I think the error log file size increase is associated with shutting
download AntiSpyware from system tray manually, not sure, but I think I read
that in a post earlier.
