Is the computer using FAT32 for its boot and main drive(s)?
Either
do a repair install of the appropriate version of Windows on the computer
that "lost" the ntfs.sys file. After the repair install, visit windows
update or Microsoft update to apply the appropriate serevice and security
updates and patches and fixes.
Or
copy the appropriate version of ntfs.sys file from a working box to the
other. Assure that you place it in the proper folder. Restart the system.
