Trying to get 2k adv server up after a bad crash. Was
able to get it to start one time with old hardware and
removed all devices in the manager but it will not allow
me to remove the ide controller. I was told that removal
of all devices would allow the system to find new
hardware and boot on another motherboard. Suggestions
plz!! Short on time and need the system back up ASAP

Don't remove the master IDE controller driver; replace it
instead with the generic Microsoft driver.

Have a look at this item too:

This method was a good idea with Win9X, but NT-based O/S uses a different
method:

How To Replace the Motherboard on a Computer That Is Running Windows 2000 or
Windows Server 2003
