Everytime i boot up I'm prompted with a message that informs me that my user
shell has been changed, Do i want to allow or block? I am aware of what has
been changed and I keep selecting allow w/ the little Box that's checked off
underneath which says something like allow always for future action or
something like that. Anyway, I want the software to reconize the change once
and for all. Anybody have a clue on how to resolve this? Thanks in advance!

Are you running as a limited user, rather than an administrator? If so, I
believe this is the behavior of beta1. Look for this to be fixed in beta2.

Hey Bill,
yes, the user is limted, however I have many other work stations that are
indentical and are not experiencing this problem. I guess that's the nature
of beta, but i was hoping that someone might know a fix or maybe they could
point out something i was doing wrong possibly.....Thanks!

I know I've seen this in that situation, but I have also not taken the time
to probe the limits--when does it happen, when doesn't it happen. I'm not
sure anyone here has done that kind of systematic investigation--we've just
accepted that the product doesn't work correctly in that situation (because
Microsoft has said so!) and moved on.

I can certainly imagine that this would only happen on machines where a
shell folder has been changed from the default location--i.e. my documents
on a network share, etc.--but I haven't investigated, as I said.

Thanks Bill! at least I feel comfort in knowing that others are aware of this
problem and that I'm not losing my mind.....Thanks again!

I found in a similar issue with a homepage modification, (setting homepage
from MSN.com to company intranet homepage) I was having a similar issue. What
I found was that buy logging in as an Admin account, assigning admin rights
for the limited user strictly to the MSAS root folder in program files,
logging back in to the limited account, hitting accept to the warning, this
allowed it to right to whatever setting file it was being denied at first.
Now it's entirely up to you if you choose to leave those rights in place, or
remove them after the fact, but in my experience it has worked both ways.

Hope this helps!

I unstalled MS Antispyware this a.m., and now when I try to change my desktop
wallpaper I am not allowed. I searched this forum and couldn't find any
help. I also monkeyed with the MSAS settings to try to get it to work, but
to no avail. I like having my desktop wallpaper locked so hijackers can't
grab it, but I like to change my wallpaper from time to time. Does anyone
know how to solve this problem?
