I would like to show an itinerary on a map. When I use motion path, the
object moves along the path, but the track is not shown. How do I display the
track?

The motion path will not be shown during the slide show.
Hence, if the path is a simple straight line, you will need to use line tool
to draw out the path, then animate it with wipe effect.
If the path is curved line, you will need to use curve or scribble to draw
out the path.

Add Effect > Entrance > Wipe.
If it is not in the list, then select More Effects and look under basic
effects.
