I wish to view my Frontpage 2003 web pages in Internet Exporer without
receving a pop-up window. I don't have any ActiveX Controls or harmfull
scripts in the web pages. I haven't published the site. It was suggested
that I could add the "Mark of the Web" to my local files' markup (immediately
under the Doctype, if there is one). Would this work? What steps would I
have to perform to add the "Mark of the Web"? Thanks for your help!

Hi Adrain,

The following article on MSDN will tell you everything you need to know
about the "Mark of the Web."

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/workshop/author/dhtml/overview/motw.asp

In your case, however, it would not help. The Mark of The Web will only set
the browser to run in a security zone that is *more* restrictive than your
Local Machine zone. Since you're having problems with your local machine
zone, no other zone would be less restrictive.

What exactly *do* you have in your page? You may not realize what FrontPage
has added when you inserted different things in there.

Another possibility would be to make your local machine zone less
restrictive. But if I were you, I would find out what is causing the problem
in this web page first.

You can lead a fish to a bicycle,
but it takes a very long time,
and the bicycle has to *want* to change.

This is precisely what the mark of the web *does* do, Kevin. It will stop
that blocking on local preview.
