Hi,

I am using Access XP - I have the run the Office update and it says I am all
up todate - I have turned off the Auto Name Correct

However, I have a report that is 19.1cm x 7.6cm (prints ok in Acc 2000) I
set the margins to 0 all the way round but it keeps reseting the left margin
to 6.35cm and when I print a report and preview it it always has and extra 3
pages between records

Anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing the problem

My report is set with 0 headers and footers and a detail section that is
7.6cm high and the report is 19cm wide

Thanks
A

As I recall, each printer model has different minimum margins it can handle.
Are you actually attempting to print something along the left edge of the
paper?

Good luck

What do you see when you do a <Print Preview>? If it is showing those same
three blank pages, then the most likely problem is that you've defined the
width (and length) of your report larger than the printable page. So when
it prints, it prints what's in the upper left corner first, then the upper
right, then the lower left, and the lower right... and all but the first
have nothing in them.

If this is the case, try narrowing down the space you've defined in the
report layout (not the print margins).

Good luck

Well I have had to change the report size to 5cm instead of 7 (which is the
page size) and it seems to work ok now.
Why would I have to reduce the report size - this means I can't get as many
textboxes on as I would wish

Thanks for all your help so far

1. The printer requires a specific margin and it won't
go less than that.
2. The way I fixed this problem of empty pages was to
a. Make sure nothing was actually printing, like a line
across the pages.
b. Set the margin small and the column size in page
setup small. The printer margin, plus the column size
must be smaller than the print size of the page or it
will use multiple pages.
