Mapping software slowness

I am trying to run a mapping software on a Windows 2003 Terminal Server (dual processor 3 Ghz with 4 Gb of RAM). The application seems to function properly except for when a route is displayed with 10 or more stops on it. The screen draws the route one color at a time and is sluggish. Is there anything I can do about allocating some additional memory to help this along, or do you have any other suggestions for this issue?

This is probably not due to a lack of memory, but due to the way RDP repaints the screen. The higher the resolution, deeper the color depth and more complex the screen is to be redrawn, the slower the refresh will be

What settings are you using and over what kind of network connection

Try reducing any of the items I stated previously or try using less "experience" items on the Remote Desktop Client, i.e. set it to 28.8Kbp

I have the resolution set to 800 X 600, 256 Colors with the Experience set to 28.8 modem. I am running on a 100 Mb LAN with the servers one floor below me... How can I make changes to the memory for this...?

There are no terminal server specific settings for adjusting the amount of memory that an application can use. If your application runs horribly in a terminal server environment, check with the manufacturer of the product to see if they know of any compatibility issues or fixes

Terminal Server is generally not well suited for graphically intense applications, i.e. moving graphics, video games, repainting of complex images on the screen...

You verified that the application runs correctly when physucally logged onto the server console, yes
