Mapping shared printers

I'm getting this error when trying to map shared printers:
A policy is in effect on your computer which prevents you from connecting to
this print queue. Please contact your system administrator.

I've verified there is no policy defined that would prevent the mapping and
the printers are available to everyone. A workaround is to logon as the
local administrator and map the printer, making it available to all profiles
on the computer. Any ideas what could be causing this?

All the client machines are XP SP2. I've reviewed both articles previously,
and none of the situations apply to my case. Any additional ideas?
