Hi,

I've set up a vpn on a 2k Server and have successfully
hosted connections. However, I'm not certain how to
control presentation of resouces available from my
intranet to the connected remote client. Currently all
hosts have static ip so I am not running dhcp or wins.

if you have correct settings, you can use windows explorer to browse the
intranet resources or create a batch file to map the network drives.

Accessing resources across a VPN link is a bit like across a router. The
VPN link doesn't carry broadcasts, so you need some other way to resolve
names to IP addresses. If the LAN uses DNS, the client should be able to do
the same. Make sure the client gets the correct DNS server address and that
it uses the correct DNS suffix.

Hi,

Thanks for your interest; I'm using dns but I'm not
certain on how to include my current dns information in
the vpn configuration as you suggest? Where in RRAS
console should apply this information?

Hi,

There are a few settings I'm not certain about such as
what interface vpn or wan should dns be pulled from.
Current I have to map the shares sitting on the vpn with
ip addresses?

Rich

It is rather the client config you should be checking. To automate the
client setup from the server end you would need to use the connection
manager admin kit (CMAK).
