Most of our XP pro machines have no problem mapping to a
directory on a server. But there are two that are not and
come back with a statement that no more than one user can
be logged in at a time with that directory. Does anybody
have any ideas? If this doesn't sound familar to you I
can relay more info what the statement says explaining
why this machine won't map to the network drive.

we need more details to help. Are you using a domain network or workgroup?
can you ping the server by ip? if yes, can you ping it by name?

We are working in a workgroup. I can actually see the
server when I go to Browse and can even select the
directory I want to map to. It won't to log on as a
different user and this is with a user that resides on
both machines (the same username and password).
After posting the orginal question I created a new user
on the client machine, that's the same as the user on the
successful pc's and use it's environment. A new question:
Shouldn't I be able to login into two directories on the
same server as different users or even the same user?

Thank you for your reply.
