I've experienced this problem:
I've a Windows server 2003 Machine that has a mapped network drive to a
shared folder on another machine (even a windows server 2003 machine).
When I'm logged on the first machine and attempt to perform a backup to the
network shared folder on the second machine, I've no problems, but when I've
scheduled the same backup on, i.e., on a daily basis and the first server (on
wich is executed NTBackup) is disconnected (no user il logged on) the backup
not start.
After, when I'm again logged on the first machine, and read the NT Bakup
report, a message say me that the backup was not performed because the folder
(the shared folder on the second machine) was not accessible.
Therefore, I've deduced, that is impossible to access a mapped network drive
while the machine is disconnected and no user is logged on.
There is any way to solve this problem and correctly access the network
drive via NTbackup even when the server is disconnected?
Thanks in advance.
