mapped drives through wireless

How can you have mapped drives not connect until you need
them? I know in 98 there was a "quick log on" section
under the properties of the client, but where is that in
windows 2000. I am getting error messages saying that
the mapped drive could not reconnect because the signal
from the wireless connects after the logon.
 
Well, they have a huge software program that goes trough
drive letters not paths, I would much rather get this
problem fixed than mess up the whole program
Any other suggestions??
 
You could do the drive mapping in the .bat file that starts the "huge
software" program.
