I have the same problem. I am running a network with Win
2000 Servers and win 2000, xp and 98 clients. If I set a
client up with Win XP it has the mapped drive problem you
describe. I am also assigning IP addresses. If I
reinstall the same computer with windows 2000, it operates
fine.
I've tried various computer brands, network cards, etc. I
am running NAV corp ed and have checked with spybot for
spyware. I don't believe it has anything to do with a
virus, because it happens with a clean install. All of my
servers are recently patched. I haven't been able to find
any tech notes that help.
