All,

I am tring to find out the different of a mapped drive
(M:\ = \\server\share) vs a UNC path (\\server\share) . I
have a program on my network that will access files (macro
type files) that will input data into the program. This
will work if i load the data from my server using the UNC
path, but not if i map a drive and attemp to run it from
the mapped drive. Why would it be any different to run
\\server\share\file1 vs M:\file1? They are still the same
files... i need to get this fixed soon.

Mapped drives won't exist when no one is logged on.
