Hi!

I have a mapped drive from one W2k Server to another (App-Server to
Fileserver). Every 12 minutes the connection is lost for 10 seconds. I've
already applied Article 138365 but it didn't help.

Any other hints?

Thanks in advance,
Jan Neumann

Jan,

Gruess Dich!

Do you mean that there is a little red X through all of the mapped network
drives when looking in 'My Computer'? If this is the case, then there
should be no worries. All you do is click on them and the connection is
reestablished instantly. Or, better said, the connections is supposed to be
established instantly.

You stated that it takes 10 seconds for this 'connection establishment' to
occur. Is this 100% of the time? On all clients? WIN2000 and WINXP?

While this may not lead to anything, might I suggest that you install the
Support Tools on all of your WIN2000 Servers ( DCs, member servers, etc. ).
Then, on the DCs run both dcdiag /v and netdiag /v. On the member servers
run just the netdiag /v. You can even download netdiag.exe individually and
run it from a couple of the clients.

HTH,

Cary
