Maplin do a great range of the basic hardware that you may need in their "White Box" range. All nice and cheap, FDD, Sound Cards, Modems & Network Cards etc, etc. OK no drivers come with hardware but easy to get off the net. So if you want a part and dont care it's not got a makers name, go for it. More details at www.maplin.co.uk

ooh i dont know abt maplins....
they seem to do really weird MAKES and brands

its the best on the high street for sure
and if u dont use the internet they are the best!

I went there to buy a sata cable (coulndt be asked to order from net)
but when i saw the price £4.99 for a sata cable I walked out back into the cold!

then i went online and got one from ebuyer 78p!
that must be like near 500% less than maplins!

:)

Well yes they can be expensive for some products but i find that having an account with them helps. If you look for the special offers on motherboard bundles they are sometimes a good deal. Also if you buy from them it's easy to take it back if faulty. I did use savastore(watford electronics) who offered good bargains but gave up after being sent to dud motherboards within a week of each other.
