I just tried installing Maple 7 on Vista, and while that appeared to work
without any issues, the application does not work right. It is as if the
only keys on the keyboard it can tell I am pressing are the Enter, Home,
End, Page Up, Page Down, Tab and a few others. None of the alphanumeric keys
work! It does not even work when selectingWin2000 or Win98 compatibility in
its shortcut properties.

I know Maple 7 is pretty old, circa 2001, but I'm just wondering, has
anybody got any idea how to make it work? Or, failing that, does anyone know
if Maple 10 works with Vista? I'd like some assurance before shelling out
the money for a new application that might not work with Vista.

Thanks, John.

You can try opening the properties for the installer and choose the
compatibility tab. Use the latest version of Windows it worked well on.

Be sure to use your Feedback link to let MS know the results of your
efforts.

Wow! It worked! I uninstalled it, then reinstalled it after setting the
installer to WinXP mode, and the application itself works without using a
compatibility mode.

You just saved me $100!

Thanks, John.

You're very welcome.
