This is what microsoft.com site says:
Wrong version of mapi32.dll Help
Assistance > Outlook 2003 > E-mail
If you receive a message that you are using the wrong version of
mapi32.dll
or that the file is corrupted, you might have installed other messaging
software after you installed Microsoft Outlook.
When you see this type of message, you can fix it by running a program in
the Microsoft Windows System folder.
To run the program to fix this problem, in C:\winnt\system32 or
C:\windows\system32, double-click Fixmapi.exe.
I am using Microsoft Office 2003, that has outlook with it. I have tried
going to:C:\windows\system32, (Like instructed by the above link) and then
double-click Fixmapi.exe, (again, like the above link found on
http://www.microsoft.com) but it does not fix the problem. I still can
not
open outlook. Any other information you would like to try and help me
with
this issue?
As far as the steps I did to cause the problem, if I knew that, I would
undo
what ever it was I did, so I dont know what program I installed or
uninstalled to cause this problem. That is why I am asking for a little
help
from others that, I am sure, are more profiecient using microsoft
products.
Other wise, I would have just sat on the phone, paying some ungodly price
to
call tech support.

How could we when you did not post what you tried and what happened? "via
Microsoft.com" tells us nothing. The steps you used to cause the problem
and
your Outlook version are also minimum requirements for help.

I, like some of you have had, am having some issues with Outlook. I
have
looked up the information on microsoft.com, but what they are telling
me
to
do is not working. I can not access Outlook, because of a MAPI32.dll
file
that is either not here or currupt. I have followed the instructions
on
how
to fix it, via Microsoft.com, but it still does not work. Can someone
help
me with my problem so I can get Outlook up and running again?
Thanks,
JT
