I am using another program that allows the user to email information from
inside of that program. However, although the Outlook email window comes up
and the correct information or attachment is there, the Send button doesn't
work. Also, I can't switch to the Outlook window to call up another email
(e.g., to copy the information over into another email body). (I'm using
Outlook 2003 with all the updates and patches.)
I am told by this software's support people that I need to enable MAPI in
order for this to work properly. But although I've looked through Outlook's
Help files, I can't figure out how I can enable MAPI without creating a whole
other profile, which (if I understand correctly) I can't access while I'm
logged into my usual POP3 account profile that is created automatically. Do I
understand that correctly??
I'm so confused. Basically, I use several accounts that all go through my
ISP that uses SMTP and POP3. But I want to be able to email out from this 3rd
party software, but I'm told I have to have MAPI enabled. I'm totally
confused about how to set this up, or even IF I can set it up.
Can someone please help me figure out how to set this up? I only understand
some of this protocol stuff, so please be gentle with me. ;-) Thanks!
