Is there a way to manage users from a XP workstation connected to the domain?
In NT there was a way, but how about with Windows 2000 running active
directory.

John,

What do you mean by 'manage users'?

You could 'manage' them by using Restricted Group GPO.

Or, do you mean manage your domain from a workstation? You know, so that
the ADUC is available on that workstation so that you could create user
account objects and do other Adminesque-type activities. If that is the
case then you would simply install the ADMINPAK on that workstation. You
would also want to do a custom install of Exchange to install the Exchange
Management Tools ( okay, I have forgotten what it is called!!!! ) and then
install the Exchange Service Pack.

Does this help you?

That is another way of doing things. Using RDP is a good idea. I still
like the idea of doing the adminesque type work from a workstation instead
of sitting at the DC or using some other way to access it ( like RDP ). But
RDP sure is handy when you are away from the office. Naturally, the poster
would have to install TS in Remote Admin Mode...should not be a problem.

Since we are looking at that avenue, some people would also suggest
installing some version of VNC. That would answer the question no matter
what the poster means by 'manage users'. In WINXP there is also the 'Remote
Assistance' feature.

You could add the Admin tools as well

Install disk

Support tools
d:\support\tools\setup.exe

Administrative tools
d:\i386\adminpak.msi

Xp can use the 2003 if that is Available. Or do as Jorge suggests.
