I have hundreds of Favorites, and I'd like to organize them in a specific
order. The IE way to manage Favorites in ineffective and clumzy to use.

Is there a software product out there which will help me organize favorites
that is quick and easy to use?

Thanks

Hi Larry :-)

Try the following and see if it does what you want:

FavOrg: Free
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Bookmark-Managers/favorg.shtml

This allows you to save them permanently in a different folder and
re-associate your favorites with the stored icons. It also verifies whether
your links in Favorites are still good.

Hope this helps.

Try using Windows Explorer on the Favorites folder.
I never use Organize Favorites from IE, as Explorer is so much easier.

Hi Jan, I can't get the link to softpedia to work! Have they discontinued
the software?

Windows Explorer won't let me arrange the items as I want. I have a few
individual items I'd like near the top of the list, then some folders, and
the folders are not in alpha order. Windows explorer makes it all in alpha
order and lists folders first then individual items.

Also it won't actually effect the presentation of the items in I.E., they
remain as they were in I.E. regardless of what is done in the Favorites
folder using windows explorer Thanks, larry.k

I just went there and it is available. You still have not told us what
version of Windows you have, but, if you have XP SP2, if you look up along
the top of the window just under the toolbar you will see your Information
Bar and it will say that you need to click on the end of the text if you
want to allow the download. Click that and it will allow the download.
Also, try one of the Mirror sites. But, you will still need to allow the
download from the Information Bar.

Hope this helps.
