My machine is Windows XP Pro SP2 running on Windows 2003 Server AD Domain
Machines are a mixture of Windows 2000 SP4 and Windows XP SP2.
I am currently having a problem when trying to manage these machines from my
own.
I right click My Computer on the desktop and choose Manage.
I then right click Computer Management and choose Connect to another
computer.
I then type in the name of the remote computer, and my machine connects OK.
I can get access to all of the snap-ins except anything under Storage:
- Removable storage: Access is denied
- Disk Management: You do not have access rights to Logical Disk Manager on
<machine name>.
I am a local admin on all of the machines. I have also tried performing this
using a domain admin account, and the same problem occurs..
On all machines, the firewall has been turned off.
I've been searching around for a possible solution (mainly google groups)
but as yet haven't come across anyone with the same problem. Most of the
solutions I have found seem to relate to the Windows Firewall, but as I
mentioned, this is turned off on our machines.
Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Shelly
