Manager - Microsoft Middleware Technology (.NET Framework, Biztalk

Primary Responsibilities
Technical Development Leadership
* Leads evaluation, development and implementation co-ordination of new enterprise-wide MS .NET middleware infrastructure & tooling ensuring cohesive end-to-end solution
* Leads Microsoft middleware solution planning by aligning industry trends & vendor product plans with company application requirements and environment needs to keep the company in a leader position in .NET application development & delivery
* Provide valuable input into and vetting of Microsoft middleware technology and application architecture directions with IT Architecture group
* Leads release upgrade planning, certification and deployment of Microsoft .NET middleware solutions & tooling.
* Leads development effort of common company .NET middleware utilities and components (e.g. logging, error handling).
* In support of IT Architecture .NET directions, leads the MS .NET Middleware 'Centre of Excellence' to institutionalize .NET application development and deployment best practices, processes, standards, guidelines, training and governance
* Leads development effort to drive MS .NET infrastructure optimization and efficiency.
Manage Relationships and Communications
* Provide MS .NET design, technical consulting & mentoring to assure successful development and adoption of reusable components and modules. Includes design and code reviews for potential critical problem areas/components.
* Provide knowledge sharing for company MS .NET community by running company .NET program web site, .NET User Group Meetings
* Provide technical assistance with MS .NET application & system tuning, trouble shooting of .NET development problems and 3rd level support to operations support groups
* Develop & maintain strong relationships and communication with Business Units, internal S&T departments, and external vendors
People Leadership Capability:
* Lead, manage and motivate a team of highly skilled senior level systems professionals (initially 3 staff) in a very complex, fast moving technology area.

* In-depth knowledge of MS .NET technology, solutions and tooling
* In-depth knowledge of MS .NET application development
* Ability to learn and understand RBC business platform application architecture and functionality to determine proper fit and adoption of Microsoft middleware technology and components
