I am using a company laptop with XP Pro SP2. I have admin rights to this
machine. I am trying to install Lotus Notes via my companys intranet but
when it tries to install it, it says it can't because I have a 'managed
desktop'. Is there a way to disable this for the install ???
Thanks is advance.

I don't know what that means (it doesn't sound like something built into
windows is doing this), but shouldn't your corporate IT people be the ones
installing & supporting this? Have you checked with them?

The company has a specific site for downloading and installing software.
With admin rights on my laptop, i shouldn't have any problems installing
software. The company I work for is so large and my boss is an old timer,
nobody seems to know who to contact.
Any suggestions???

Unfortunately, I don't know what to tell you. As far as I'm aware, there's
nothing built in to Windows that will give you a message like that. You
don't mention the full text of the error message, but you might try googling
for it as a phrase.

Beyond that, all I can suggest is that you contact the IT department (not
your boss). It's a company laptop, so they ought to be the ones supporting
it.
