Go through the prep work here -
http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware

Include scanning with David Lipman's Multi_AV and follow instructions to
do all scans in Safe Mode. Please see the special Notes regarding using
Multi_AV in Vista.

The link to David's Multi-AV does not work for me.. getting a 'site
unavailable' message..

Encouraging. Thanks, will spend quality time for the process.
As the other netter noted, the David Lipman's download link is not working,
err msg:
http://host249.ipowerweb.com/unavailable.html

That's my fault. I've got instructions for using David's utility on my
site and that does work. Here's the link again:

http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Multi-AV

The correct download link is here:

http://www.pctipp.ch/downloads/sicherheit/35905/multi_av_scanning_tool.html

The site is in German but David's tool is in English so don't let that
worry you. Scroll all the way down to almost the bottom of the page and
you'll see a box titled "Infos Zum Download - Multi-AV Scanning Tool".
You'll see "Download von www pctipp.ch" and the live link to download
Multi-AV. I just downloaded it so I know the link works.

My apologies for my mistake.

While it may be worthwhile to try and clean your computer ultimately you may
be better off backing up your data and settings and doing a fresh install of
your operating system making sure you take preventative steps such as using
a firewall, malware protection that also monitors your computer in real
time, and installing Windows Updates before you access the internet again or
restore your data from backups.

Thank you very much. And thank you all.

You need to update your download location for multi_av, no longer at
