Mrs Moo

I appreciate that I 'multiposted' but as a new user to this site, where I was
directed when doing a search, I did not realise there were other discussion
groups and I do not know how to remove a thread once it posted.

I am sorry if I 'wasted your time' but it appears to me that you waste your
own time by writing snide comments on here.

Get a life.

Several comments:

1. Multiposting is a common error made by newcomers to newsgroups.
Many of us, Malke included, and I, will point it out, not be "snide,"
as you call it, but in an attempt to help the newcomer, get you
*better* help, and to help make you a more knowledgeable newsgroup
participant. Remember that many newsgroup participants are busy
people, and tend to write matter-of-factly. Please don't take that
"matter-of-factness" to be rudeness. Malke is a very polite person,
and I'm sure that she didn't mean her reply to be insulting.

2. Please, when you reply to a message here, do it by replying to the
original thread, not by starting a new one. When you do it the way you
did, you disassociate the reply from the original and we can't even
see what it is you're replying to.

3. Finally, one more point, also meant to be helpful, not a complaint.
You speak of "this site," so you probably don't realize that this
really isn't a "site," but a newsgroup. You are using the awful web
interface to read this newsgroup, and that's the slowest, clunkiest,
most error-prone method there is. Do yourself a favor and switch to a
newsreader, such as Outlook Express, which comes with Windows. See
http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/outlookexpressnewreader.htm

Mrs Moo is correct is is the tone of the response not the explanation of cross posting.

all too often people forget there are new people posting here who do not know their way around.
attention should be paid to the post and answered accordingly.

there is nothing wrong with TRULY helping by answering AGAIN if that is what is required to provide help.

Hi Mrs Moo,

Generally speaking, if you have a question or a point to make and you are
not sure where to post it then post it under 'Windows Vista General
Discussions'. If you feel that your post might be relevant to other groups as
well then please do not multipost it, i.e. send it individually to these
groups. Instead, crosspost your original post to the other groups. Click on
'Advanced Options' at the bottom of the reply panel. The advantage of this is
that any reply to any of the crossposted posts will appear in all the other
groups in which you crossposted the original post. A multiposted post will
only have the reply placed into the group where the respondent replied and it
can be very difficult for both you and others to keep track of your post.
