Mrs Moo is correct is is the tone of the response not the explanation of cross posting.
all too often people forget there are new people posting here who do not know their way around.
attention should be paid to the post and answered accordingly.
there is nothing wrong with TRULY helping by answering AGAIN if that is what is required to provide help.

Several comments:
1. Multiposting is a common error made by newcomers to newsgroups.
Many of us, Malke included, and I, will point it out, not be "snide,"
as you call it, but in an attempt to help the newcomer, get you
*better* help, and to help make you a more knowledgeable newsgroup
participant. Remember that many newsgroup participants are busy
people, and tend to write matter-of-factly. Please don't take that
"matter-of-factness" to be rudeness. Malke is a very polite person,
and I'm sure that she didn't mean her reply to be insulting.
2. Please, when you reply to a message here, do it by replying to the
original thread, not by starting a new one. When you do it the way you
did, you disassociate the reply from the original and we can't even
see what it is you're replying to.
3. Finally, one more point, also meant to be helpful, not a complaint.
You speak of "this site," so you probably don't realize that this
really isn't a "site," but a newsgroup. You are using the awful web
interface to read this newsgroup, and that's the slowest, clunkiest,
most error-prone method there is. Do yourself a favor and switch to a
newsreader, such as Outlook Express, which comes with Windows. See
